Years ago I travelled with some family members on a most significant trip to Croatia where I took many inspo pictures. This group of chickens was one such one wanting to be painted, so I cropped two from the bunch and painted in oil on hardboard. I draw it on with paint and lay it in pretty messy with the contrast and colour, double check drawing, and then spend days on the detail work.
