Lucky Lantern

Sometimes one just finds beauty in the mundane, back yard elements. I often gaze at the plants, creatures, and various man-made decor, hoping to capture their energies and textures as best as I can with my paints, water, and a pinch of salt. This particular piece is focused on the magenta Hawaiian Ti plant(aka Luck Plant), and the heavily patinated metal lantern hanging in front of it. The smooth, bright leaves of the Ti plant contrast with the rough, mottled leaves of the lantern quite nicely(thought I).
