"East Grand Wash" is located in Capital Reef National Park in Southern Utah near Butch Cassidy Arch. I did not get a chance to hike this trail when I was there, but I knew instantly I would have to paint these ten story monoliths. I was struck by the beauty of the refracted light bouncing back up into the shadows. It was casting a beautiful cadmium orange/yellow glow on the textured forms of these ancient petrified sand dunes worn away by millions of years of erosion. It was truly magestic!
