This rancher fed his cattle all summer and fall. Everyday when I would drive my children to school, he would wave. It always struck me just how committed he was to caring for his herd and how much affection those cows seemed to have for him. As with all my work, I try to capture the felling of the moment providing a sense of time and place without overdoing my rendering. I always want the edges, impression, and light to tell the story.
