My sons had 4-H chickens when they were in elementary school and now it's my granddaughter's turn. We took some of her chickens to our farm. They were beautiful with yellow ochre and burnt sienna feathers near their heads and sparkly veridian green feathers on their bodies. They laid delicious eggs! We fixed them the safest home we possibly could but the skunks and foxes won. We were sad but they will live on in art.
