Tuckamore and Pack Ice

The Newfoundland landscape at L'Anse Aux Meadows in June can be chilly: this is where the vikings landed a thousand years ago. The figure explores the vista with a pair of binoculars. She stands on a rock and towers over stunted-old-growth tuckammore trees. A snow path takes you back to the horizon and the pack ice. Follow the pack ice and you too will see what she is looking at: an assembly of multicoloured buildings and the icebergs beyond.
