Misty Hill Tree Line

I painted this pastel at the University Wine Company, one of over thirty businesses and organization participating at an event called Route 45 Getaways. Over fifty music, art and other outdoor-related activities were held at destinations located along scenic Route 45 between Pine Grove Mills, Boalsburg and Millheim in Centre County, PA. The event's goals were to celebrate the bounty of the land and the people that live here and strengthen relationships between local villages, businesses and community organizations.

I was on the winery's side patio, looking out to tree line to the east. A curious member of the staff kept coming back to peek over my shoulder to watch the painting unfold. She connected with the scene and the experience, and she took home a fresh new piece of art.
