Japanese Garden Pathway

Micron pen/marker on Arches 300lb hot press. This drawing started on location at Fredrik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. I took a photo for lighting and detail reference. The drawing started with a light mark making process with a 005 Micron. I work so lightly that slight changes can be made for corrections. I reserve light areas. I build up layers of ink to establish darks, bring out dramatic lighting, and create textures. I visited the gardens several times to work from observation on the the rock textures. I worked from my studio using the reference photo to finish the drawing.
